HashCalc is a file and data hashing tool for macOS. For purchase, billing, or download issues, use Apple's support channels for App Store and Mac apps. For questions about what the app does on your Mac, see the description on the App Store and the sections below.

Use this form to send feedback or describe a problem. Include your macOS version and what you were doing in the app when possible.

Common topics

File access: macOS may prompt for permission to read files or folders you select. Grant access only for locations you intend to hash.
VirusTotal: Optional lookups send a cryptographic hash of a file to VirusTotal's service, not the full file. A VirusTotal API key is optional; without your own key, public API limits may apply.
Keys and settings: If you save them, HashCalc stores only two secrets in your Mac's Keychain (generic-password entries for this app): your HMAC secret when you use keyed hashing, and your VirusTotal API key when you use VirusTotal. Other options and stats are kept in normal app preferences (for example UserDefaults), not in Keychain. Resetting options, clearing app data, or uninstalling follows standard macOS behavior.
